Eighteen with a bullet. Loaded with personality and the exuberance of youth, the lovely Alexis Hart of Flowery Branch sits down with us to tell us all about her recent trip to Nashville where she has begun work on her soon to be released debut EP.

TN:

When did you first decide you wanted to persue a career in music?

ALEXIS:

(Laughing) About knee high to a grasshopper I guess! I was a "hair brush" singer. When I was little I would stand in front of the mirror and sing into that hair brush like I was on stage in front of a hundred thousand people. I just always knew that I was going to grow up and be a country music singer.

TN:

How did the trip to Nashville come about?

ALEXIS:

My producer, Dave Norris, set it all up. When Dave first heard me sing he approached me and siad that I had extreme potential and that he would love to work with me. We met with him later and he set me up with The Fun House Recording Studio in Nashville. Being my first time in a real studio, I was soooo excited! I thought that I would be really nervous, but everybody was so nice and the musicians made me feel comforatable right off the bat. I had brought three songs to start with and that first session we recorded "If That Was A Lie", which is going to be the first single.

TN:

What have you done prior to this that made everything so easy for you?

ALEXIS

: Well I was Miss Junior Falcon in 2008, asnd Miss Falcon in 2009 at Flowery Branch High. I also got to sing the national anthem at one of the Atlanta Falcons games last year. That was exciting, but not nearly as exciting as being in the studio. I don’t know, I guess I’ve always known this was my calling and now that its happening, I’m just tickled! It’s almost like being in a dream!

TN:

So, after you finish the EP, what is your next step?

ALEXIS:

My producer, Dave Norris, is shopping for record lables as we speak. He says that Jep Records and a few others are showing lots of interest. I’m going back in the studio this summer to work on finishing the album and, hopefully, everything will pull together and I can start touring to promote it.

TN:

Life on the road can be hard you know.

ALEXIS: I’m willing to do whatever it takes. I’ll sleep in a bus, shower in a convenience store bathroom and eat crackers and vienna sausages if I have to! This is my dream and I am going to live it. I’m ready and I am not going to take NO for an answer!
